June 2, 2020 Message from Pastor Christopher Bergenn:
I recognize that change is not always easy for everyone... but when its the leading of the Spirit we must be obedient... a transition period is going to be necessary for a lot of people because they won't be able to immediately shift... the church organization however will immediately shift...meaning moving main services to Sabbath day... transition for West Hurley will look like holding a bible study on sundays for those who can't yet come to saturdays... i am not sure whether it will be morning or evening yet that is to be determined and won't start till the following weekend
I know that this is a very polarizing issue, many are feeling "left out" or "forgotten" about. None of those are what happened... I am not going untouched by this change either. My wife's job cannot give her saturday's off for a while because they are in a hiring freeze.
I promise to do my best to address every question that people have after I have finished teaching on the subject. I WILL NOT respond to any of the personal attacks or attacks of the church leadership. Many of the comments in response to my original post were grossly inappropriate. We will intently study the sabbath and its implications for Christians today. This is the direction the Lord led me and I fought with him for months about it... it was not a hasty decision... I spend my time "on the mountain" with God and this is what I came down with.
Moses came off the mountain with the law and initiated immediate change... there was no warning or expectation from the people... the Holy Spirit fell suddenly on the disciples at Pentacost... being uncomfortable with change is always going to happen but letting your level of conform or how much it changes your lifestyle determine whether you follow God or not is not acceptable to Him.
I honestly truly love you all and spent much time with tears in my eyes praying for you and this transition and will continue to do so.
