Our goal is to help women attain a victorious life through the study of the word of God, fervent prayer, and loving friendship. Growing in Christ-likeness, we prepare women to become mighty warriors for the Kingdom of God.
SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK
"For the eyes of the Lord run to and for throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of whose whose heart is loyal to Him." 2 Chronicles 16:9
On October 2, 1840, the young Presbyterian pastor Robert Murray M'Cheyne wrote this letter to his friend Daniel Edwards, who was leaving for Germany to train for missionary service: (you can put yourself in his shoes)
"My dear friend:
I trust you will have a pleasant and profitable time in Germany. I know you will apply hard to German; but do not forget the culture of the inner man - I mean of the heart. How diligently the calvary officer keeps his saber clean and sharp; every stain he rubs off with the greatest care. Remember you are God's sword - His instrument - I trust a chosen vessel unto Him to bear His name. In great measure, according to the purity and perfections of the instrument, will be the success. It is not a great talents God blesses so much as great likeness to Jesus. A holy minister is an awful weapon in the hand of God."
Along with the development of our spiritual gifts and talents, God wants us to develop our character. Remember that your life is built on character, and character is built on decisions. The decisions you make, small and great, do to your life what the sculptor's chisel does to the block of marble. You are shaping your life by your thoughts, attitudes, and actions and becoming either more or less like Jesus Christ. The more you are like Christ, the more God can trust you with His blessing. Study the universal holiness of life. Your whole usefulness depends on this. Your message lasts but an hour or two, but your life preaches all week. A holy life is a useful life.
